and Venessa Verdugo as "the Concierge"
Costume Designer: Young Lee, Fight Choreographer: Brye Cooper
We ran August 1st-31st, 2002
in a hotel suite at the historic Los Angeles Athletic Club
Two former classmates meet again in an exclusive hotel - one as a privileged guest, the other as a maid. Their encounter strips away masks to reveal choices, delusions, and the damaging limits that may come when you're an American with an Asian face.
"This one will undoubtedly rank on more
than one most-memorable-theatre-experience list."
--Dany Margolies in Back Stage West
"Gray's inspired choice of setting the action in the
mysterious downtown Los Angeles Athletic Club and having the play begin with Daphne undressing in the bedroom
while the audience peeps from a TV monitor in the living room lends a lurid air to the intimate proceedings."
--Miriam Jacobson in LA Weekly
